There is a problem with UCMDB.
Discovery job(s) will fail with error message “Time out exception” if the shell of the discovery user on the discovered destination has a command line 256 characters limitation.
If there is no way to change the shell or modify the command line limitation in that discovered destination for certain reason.
Then there is no way to run discovery jobs on that discovered destination.
So we are asking UCMDB could support to run discovery jobs on discovered destination which have command line characters limitation in further release.
It might be fixed with reducing the length of the commands which UCMDB executes on the discovered destination.
If this could not be fixed. At least we need to make a modification to the UCMDB document/manual.
In the document/manual there should be something like “shells with command line characters limitation is not supported by UCMDB. For example C shell”.
