UCMDB 9.0 Modelling

I can use UCMDB 9.0
I want to define a new model
for example Service Manager
how can do it ?
Which one should I choose(Instance Based Model and Pattern Based Model)?
what is the difference between Instance Based Model and Pattern Based Model ?
