UCMDB Basic License issue
I am trying to activate a basic license for a customer but when I used the getLicense it returned the following.
The UCMDB version is 10.10
The license is currently located in C:\hp\UCMDBServer\Conf
The file has been renamed to ucmdb_license.xml
It had a trial license before but removed. Not sure if that will affect putting the basic license in.
That output is correct for a valid license but I suggest using a different method.
Instead of a UCMDB: Server Services use Mbean UCMDB: Licensing Services
use the getAllLicenses or getAllActiveLicenses, it will show you more details about the license
The trial license can be left in
Did you use the Licensing Services Mbean to add the license?
Before renaming the license, was it a DAT file before?
When I activate a license, I use the Licensing Services Mbean and use one of two methods: addLicense or addLicenseFromFile.
With addLicenseFromFile, you just need to input the Customer number and the complete file path where the license is including the name of the file.
With addLicense, you can copy and paste the contents of the license file in this field.
Licensing for 10.10 is different from 10.01, the license can also limit the number of server OS instances and 3rd party integrations.
The 10.10 licenses I have received are DAT files.
The license key is the content of the DAT file.
The ucmdb_license.xml files I've used in the past have been for UCMDB 9.05 and BSM/RTSM advance license.
I would verify the license is for 10.10, the type of license, number of OS instances and 3rd party integrations its valid for
You can also find the details of the activated license from the UCMDB interface
Click on the license status icon on the bottom of the UCMDB interface
The license status window will pop up
Just a question relating to licensing. Why would uCMDB display : "License status : Non-compliant" even when we haven't exceeded license usage?
Yes, we are fully using the 2 third-party integration licenses we have, but why "Non-Compliant" running at 100% and not exceeding? Is there any place we can set the "Non-Compliant" message to revert to Compliant?
