UD Agents Ports communication directions
Hi experts!
I'm trying to understand the communications directions of the UD Agents? I see 2 different ports required for UD Agent. What are each port for? do they have specific purpose?
2738, 7738
Thanks in advance!
@udagent @udports @firewall @ports

Hello,
TCP port 7738 is assigned by IANA to HP Enterprise discovery agent for exchanging required data and as for port 2738 it is required to find open ports on the node to start handshaking on that port.

Dear Amy,
There is no such separate purpose is given by MF but as replied by Erimeev, 7738 port is assigned for UD agent by IANA. But UD agent is supported on both 2738 & 7738 as per MF documentation and this communication should be bi-directional since information is getting exchanged between Probe and UD agent.
