Unable to back up MonolithicFlat disk?

Hello Forum, using VMEX 7.0.0001.    ESXi 6.0.

Trying to back up a new VM.   Disc 0 is MonolithicFlat and cannot be selected for the backup.   I need to be able to back it up?

What to do?    Can I convert the disk to something else that is supported?   How?

Disc 1 is shown as of type VMFS.

Any help would be apprexiated.

Looks like if I clone the VM and specify Thin Provision, the cloned discs show type VMFS and are supported by VMExpl.
