Prevent downloading Files in Browser/DesktopApp/OfficeAdd-In

We are looking for a solution to prevent/prohibit the download of file entries for Shares (viewer/editor/contributor) in Vibe. It should not be possible in the browser, the Office Add-In or with the Desktop Application to download and save the file directly, but the files should be able to be viewed exclusively with the HTML viewer in b.

Why? - The whole situation is a legal question, some files may not be stored directly as a copy from the original source.

Has anyone here a possible solution, best would be out-of-the-box? 🙂

Re: Prevent downloading Files in Browser/DesktopApp/OfficeAd

Though I can understand your use case and would like to help you this sounds like a challenge.
Vibe grants users access to workspaces/folders/entries/files&attachments based on roles and rights OR by sharing. Sharing things from within Vibe can be a challenge...
In a very custom designed Vibe setup it would be possible to lock down a site to fit your requirements but out of the box (even if you hide the attachments from the users and only provide the ViewAsHTML-Link to them) users would be able to access and download the files via webdav/REST/SOAP/Subscriptions/etc.. - if they know how to access these interfaces.
Hard ... but possible ... If you want to give it a chance I'd recommend using a separate and dedicated Vibe site/zone for this scenario, not mixing this use case with other use cases in your environment. Keep this setup separate from your day to day use cases.
