Vibe connector for datasync?

Is anyone here running the Vibe connector for datasync? I'm looking at implementing it and wonder if there are any gotcha's or how it works in the real world.

Thanks,

One thing to keep in mind is that currently it's just a one-way sync
from Vibe to GW.

Re: Vibe connector for datasync?

Any insider information on when the features for this will be improved? After reading through the docs some more, I'm not sure if it is even worth my time to install it.

We're on Vibe 3.2 and GW 2012, so being on the latest versions shouldn't be a barrier to us.

All I can say is that it's on the roadmap. 🙂

Please note that the connector will not work on the same server as the mobility connector. The information about this is easily missed in the installation manual.

Re: Vibe connector for datasync?

Yep, saw that. Thanks for the heads-up, though. I have the new OS built, just need to find time to get DS running now.

I don't understand why this is in the documentation, it's works perfectly ok in practice. Been running DataSync Mobility + Vibe + SugarCRM connectors for ages without issues.
I haven't seen any issues other than phone calendar handling errata, Vibe connector can definitely be usable in a mobility system. You should at least try it if you're short on hardware I reckon.

The big question is WHY Novell recommend it be separate? (couldn't find that in the docs)

This is probably another example of something that works in practice
but isn't officially supported.

Probably hasn't gone through the QA cycle.

The problem we saw were the inability for users to configure the Vibe connector. What folders to sync and how. Could also be the reason for the "Problem 78" when running GWCHECK.

Ah, yup, I can confirm I have that same problem configuring the connector for users. Not sure about gwcheck, haven't seen any errors in the scheduled checks but also haven't had to run any manual checks for a while.
