Hi voyager,

We don’t provide support for COBOL deployment on mobile devices today but these devices can of course connect to a remote server where COBOL is providing business logic.

Micro Focus demonstrated COBOL running on an Android device at the R3 launch and we’ll be making that technology available in the form of ‘community tech preview’ very soon -- so you'll have an opportunity to try this for yourself.

Which platforms do you have an interest in?

Can you tell us more about the role you see COBOL playing on these devices?

Thanks

I am sure we will receive an email when this will happen, right?

My company is meaning to use Android or iOS (I am a bit familiar with iOS and I also know developing on that platform is not easy, specially if you use Objective-C).

We would use them primarly to transmit sales to the main cash inside the shop, also to read barcodes, perform queries, etc, like Apple does in their big Apple stores. Our goal is to reduce lines and wait on customers as fast as possible.
