10.0.2 client update

I am using stages to test deploy the 10.0.2 agents to 10.0.0 workstations. The stage says deployment successful but looking at the properties of the upgraded workstation, (rt click Z icon, properties) it only shows inventory module at 10.0.2 all the other modules still state 10.0.0.

In the web management interface they all show as 10.0.0.
Only a new install seems to show the correct information.

Do you have to install the 10.0.1 agents at all the workstations before upgrading to 10.0.2. I just figured the server needed to go in stages. 10.0.0 - 10.0.1 - 10.0.2

Is this correct?

Re: 10.0.2 client update

#1) I find that the "information" icon is not always correct.
#2) The 10.0.2 update may not have all the updates that also exist in 10.0.1

Goto http://zenserver/zenworks-setup and download zenworksinfocollect_win.zip
Extract MSILIST.EXE from this tool.

This will show all the installed MSIs on your system.
Try and compare a cleanly installed box with one that started at 10.0.1 and get upgraded to 10.0.2.

That should let you know if all of the patches are coming down.

Re: 10.0.2 client update

You are correct. The 10.0.2 does not include some of the 10.0.1 updates. Now it looks like I have created a monster. I have the 10.0.1 updates. Is there a way to blend them in with the 10.0.2 patches. Just drop them in a directory??? It could not be that simple.

Re: 10.0.2 client update

Attached is an "Install.Bat" that will install all of the 10.0.2 patches to a 10.0.1 system
It assumes you have the Required MSIs.

The Text Files list all of the MSIs that should be installed on a 10.0.2 System. (Including the 10.0.1 Patches.)
You should be able to modify the batch file to include the 10.0.1 update patches as well if you have them.

Mind you I have never done this for anything but a 10.0.1 to 10.0.2 upgrade.

Re: 10.0.2 client update

When I run this batch file it zips right through and never installs
anything. Is there something the msi's are looking for before they install
right? Or a service that is not shut down? msi's that exist that should
not? Should I uninstall the ones I am replacing? Do they automatically
uninstall or overwrite the old? I have successfully created a batch file to
upgrade 10.0.0 to 10.0.1 if you want a copy. But from 10.0.1 to 10.0.2 is a
problem. Also since I upgraded the server to 10.0.1 the 10.0.2 with out
upgrading the clents I also have a working batch file that will add the
10.0.1 files to a 10.0.2 upgrade.
Thanks for your help!
