11.2.3 update

Hi,

I need to deploy the update out of the office hours.

Is it possible to do this from 6PM to 6 AM ?

If yes, how can I do it ? I tried to do from 18 to 6 but it doesn't work.

Thanks.

Re: 11.2.3 update

Normand,

What do you mean, when you say "it doesn't work"? Errors or does it just not start on your devices?

Normand,

Okay - so you've changed it now?

Re: 11.2.3 update

Niels,

No I didn't deployed the update yet.

Waiting to know if there's a way to do what I need ?

I want (and need) to deploy the update between 6PM and 6AM. Not in office
hours because there is no way to tell the agent to not restart after the
update. It always ask for a reboot and if the user isn't in front of the
computer for a long time, the computer reboot by itself and we had several
problems with this (conversions in progress stopped, document work lost,
etc.).

Or should I deploy the update between 6PM and 11:59PM or 12AM and 6AM ?

Thanks.

Re: 11.2.3 update

Shaun,

I deployed the update last thursday and set it to be deployed between 18:00
and 23:59 starting on friday 15th.

Now, this morning, it appears that some devices are updating even if it's
not the right time (I don't want devices to be update in office hours).

Why does the update still updating devices ?

Thanks.

Re: 11.2.3 update

I've seen issues where devices update outside of schedule, but it's usually them updating early, e.g. immediately after the association. This seems to be an issue with the client, and has affected more than just system updates, but normal bundle scheduling as well. I don't have an explanation, but a fews thing to note:

  • You can tell the agent to not reboot during the update. It's an option during association or deployment of the update in ZCC.
  • During the association, make sure "Process immediately if device unable to execute on schedule" isn't checked. It shouldn't run if the schedule is missed, but I'd imagine the deployment would need to be rescheduled if any of them failed. If it does run, I'd call that a bug.
