2017 to 2020 appliance migration clarification
https://www.novell.com/documentation/zenworks-2020/zen_upgrade/data/b1g4yqtl.html Step 2 says to attach the vastorage disk before power on. Then step 5 says to attach the zenworks content disk while the appliance is running? Is this correct? Can I get some clarification on step 5?
When I migrated from 11 to 2017, the docs said to attach both disks before power on. Just trying to make sense of this.
Thanks!

Step#5 would not apply to a "Virtual Disk". It would be if your Virtual Disk in Step#2 had a Link to some external non-virtualized disk. Perhaps a SAN connection.
This would be a very uncommon scenario where the "Content" was not actually on the Virtual Disk from Step#2, simply contained links to an external source.

Craig,
Here is what I find confusing about the docs.
https://www.novell.com/documentation/zenworks-2020/zen_upgrade/data/b1g648uv.html Step 6 says to make sure to mount the zenworks content repository disk, but it doesn't say when.
https://www.novell.com/documentation/zenworks-2020/zen_upgrade/data/b1g4yqtl.html Step 2 says to attach the vastorage disk. But it says nothing about the content disk. Should they both be attached at this time? That is where I would expect to do it based on my 11 to 2017 migration, but I didn't know if something changed for the 2017 to 2020 migration.
Thanks!

Step#2 applies to attaching a Virtual Disk.
Step#5 talk about configuring your Appliance OS to point somewhere else. For Most folks there Content is on the Virtual Disk and not a SAN that needs to be configured to be mounted in the FSTAB, which can only be done after the OS is running not as part of the Virtual Appliance Setup before it is started.
If you are using a SAN, it will be connected when you start the migration.

Right, so unless I am misunderstanding you...step 2 is missing information. I have three virtual disks on my 2017 appliance: the appliance disk, the vastorage disk, and the content disk. What bothers me is that step 2 says to attach the vastorage disk, but it says nothing about the content disk. But I would assume I need to attach both at this time, correct?
