Re: After imaging Windows 7.

I had a "similar" issue and resolved it here.

Maybe not the same issue but my issue had similar traits. It looks like the pc is not "unique" to the ZCC. ??

Hello everyone....

I am using ZCM 11.2

I created a Windows 7 image of a Lenovo T500 laptop.

I then used another T500 laptop to put the image on.

Everything seemed to go OK once I got the imaging going.

After the image was done, I disconnected it from the network and rebooted.
It came up with Windows 7 and everything looked good. I changed the computer
name to reflect the different computer and it shows up on the ZCC.

My problem is that the two computers don't both show up on the ZCC at the
same time. It looks like whichever one is booted up last supersedes the
other one.

I figure that there is something unique in the Zenworks Adaptive Agent
configuration that is unique to each computer that is getting duplicated in
the Zenworks imaging process, but I don't know what it is.

In Zenworks 7, there was the ability to unregister a workstation to handle
this Would unregistering one of the two of them correct this, but how do it
reregister again?

Thanks.

I'm assuming that either when you captured the image, you did not run "zac fsg -g" or else you did not install the Zenworks agent on the second PC before applying the image.

I'm not sure if this is the supported method, but in my experience, doing the following on the second PC will fix your problem:
1. Unregister the device locally on the machine by running the following at the command line:
zac unr -s

2. Delete the cache folder from the %Zenworks_Home% directory.
3. Reboot
4. Reregister the device with a new GUID with the following:
zac reg -g http://[server name]

If for some reason step 1 fails, you can try:
zac unr -f

However, this will probably remove the original device from the zone, so you will want to do this on both workstations, followed by steps 2 and 3, and then reregister both at the end.

Re: After imaging Windows 7.

Im currently having this problems again after updating to 11.2 monthly update 2 .

I have tryed several things like running a script before imaging :

Rem Dereg workstation
zac unr

Rem Workstation guid remove
zac fsg -d

Rem Clear nalcache
del "%ZENWORKS_HOME%\cache\zmd" /s /q

Rem Remove device guid files
del "%ZENWORKS_HOME%\conf\deviceguid.*" /s /q

Rem Remove device data files

del "%ZENWORKS_HOME%\conf\devicedata.*" /s /q

Rem Clears image safedata
"%ZENWORKS_HOME%\bin\preboot\ziswin.exe
pause

Rem Remove device data files

del "%ZENWORKS_HOME%\work\zmd\status\Status*" /q
pause

Rem Shut Down Reboot workstations
shutdown.exe -r -t 5"

but still the problem occured.

Is it a bug in the monthly update?
