Changing ZCM ports

Hi all: I need to change the ports ZCM uses, currently set to the defaults of 80 and 443. I would like to make them 40080 and 40443. The reason is interference with OES services on satellite servers.

Thanks, Chris.

Re: Changing ZCM ports

You can set the port for the satellite server when you configure the satellite server on the tab called Server Settings.

How about the primary server?

I don't think there's a suported way to chnage the ports on a primary
after the fact. In fact, now that OES is no longer supported as primary
server (for exactly that reason), I must assume that chnaging the ports
on a primary isn't supported anymore. You used to be able to configure
them during the installation.

That is what I remember. When we ran on OES, changing the ports was not a big deal and it left OES-used ports alone. I never had any difficulties with ZCM on OES and was a bit disappointed when support for OES was dropped.

So now I have to change the way OES operates due to ZCM. Oh well - must let it go.

Chris.

Exactly the same here. But I don't get to make the decisions. 😉

Re: Changing ZCM ports

ZCM Primary Ports can be changed, not sure how well it is documented, but they can certainly help you with an SR. (Make sure they don't forget the 'zman lrr' command which is a less than obvious portion of the process.
The reason ZCM does not support running with OES does not have to do with port conflict issues, but too many resource contention issues as well as reducing integration testing for a lesser used configuration.

Re: Changing ZCM ports

Thanks for sharing that there is a way to change the default zenworks ports (80/443) to something else.  I would be greatful if you can share the steps as I need it urgent to configure the same in one of my client's setup where they do not wants to use default ports.  They wants to setup something like 8080 / 8443.

If you have the steps handly, please share the same via email ramesh@allsolutionz.com.

Thanking you in advance.

Re: Changing ZCM ports

Probably best to do this with a Service Request to ensure all variables are covered.

I would be leary of posting a setup of steps that has items 90% covered or may change.....

Example, this post is many years old and a new items to make sure you have covered are the ZEUS Settings....Those are auto-corrected, but only beyond a certain patch level.  ZEUS did not even exist when these posts started.
