Communication Error When Attempting To Remote Some Users

Hi All:

We're running ZCM 11.4.1 and have ran into an issue remoting some users. We get an error that states "Communication Error. It is likely that some other application is running on the specified port." This error seems to follow the user rather than the workstation itself. We have verified that no other service is running on port 5950.

we have the same issue.

reason: if the PC was remote controled via an RDP (MSTSC.exe) session (possibly via remote assistance MSRA.exe as well), the ZCM remote control via VNC does not work any longer - until reboot of the remote PC

We have created a workaround: a bundle with the following launch actions:
- launch executable for system user with: net stop "Novell ZENworks Remote Management powered by VNC"
- Delay 5 seconds
- launch executable for system user with: net start "Novell ZENworks Remote Management powered by VNC"

Now one can
- search for the bundle
- mark it (hook the bundle icon)
- select "Quick Tasks" on menu on top
- select "Launch Bundle"
- search for the PC (you have to click on the arrow left of "Devices" first)
- Ok Ok Start
- after 1 minute the device is remote controlable again

I'm out of the office this week, so I can't try to verify your issue.
However, it is detailed enough that it definitely warrants further investigation.
Are you able to open an SR on this issue?

If you do and post the SR# here, I will make sure it gets in good hands.............

I have the same error after upgrading ZCM from 11.3.2 to 11.4.1. Even if I try to make the remote control of a device with new agent ZCM 11.4.1 just installed . The remote control works with old agents. Any suggestion?
Best regards

Same issue here on a newly-installed agent. No other connections were attempted.

Try disabling "Ask User Permission" dialog box in your RC Policy.

If that helps, then this should be fixed in ZCM 11.4.2. (FTF for 11.4.1 available)
That was the issue on the SR listed above.
