Connecting Jaspersoft Studio to Sybase Database

I have a customer with an external Sybase database and I need to build some reports using Studio. Jaspersoft documentation and forums are notably unhelpful in this regard. I've tried both of the obvious connectors in the connection wizard without success (and with different errors for each method).

Has anyone been successful connecting Studio to a Sybase database? If so, would you share a screen capture of the connector configuration and any other relevant commentary.

Many thanks!
