Corrupting profiles

The concept of personality migration is perfect for us when deploying new desktops to endusers.

I have been using it for a few years now and used it particularly for our migration from XP to Win7. When I used it is seemed to work fine.

Now it would appear that my tech people are manually migrating files/folders/favourites etc when doing a new machine installation.

They are reporting that there are issues with the profiles being created by personality migrator getting corrupted on the new device. We don't know if the user should log on once before we re-apply the settings or not but it would appear that both ways the profile is corrupted.

I am at a loss to understand why this is the case.

Has anyone come across this and have you figured out a solution.

TBH I haven't delved too much into it as I'd thought I'd check the forum before re-inventing the wheel.

We are using Win7x64 machines.

I would recommend looking at the MS Tool.
The Personality Migration Tool from Novell has not been maintained for quite a long time and has been dropped from support for the latest versions of ZCM.
