Desktop Icons not shown in WIndows 7
Hello,
I'm having some problems with ZCM 11 and Windows 7 SP1.
I'm here at a client of mine and we are testing ZCM 11 with Windows 7 SP1.
I have created a simple application with an icon on the desktop.
The problem is that the icon is not being displayed on the desktop. Even after
several refreshes.
We already have applied Cumulative Patch 2 but it did not help.
What else can i look for? The Agent version number is 11.0.0.41501
I have also disabled the Windows Firewall on the client.

Jslegers,
are they doing folder redirection? Have you looked at a debug-level
zmd-messages log?

Hello Shaun,
We are using folder redirection and i have found the TID regarding a registry key. But the key is already deleted.
I will ask the customer for the log files.

Jslegers,
read the TID again 🙂 if you are using folder redirection and you
delete the reg key the you will not get any icons...

Jslegers,
and did you see where it says "NOTE: Deleting this registry key will mean that the fix for TID 7006271 Bundle shortcuts are not visible on Windows 7 when Folder Redirection is being used will not operate, so this workaround should not be used if Folder Redirection is being used"

Re: Desktop Icons not shown in WIndows 7
Hello Shaun,
That did the trick. Now i have to figure out to refresh automatically after login like ZCM 10 does.

Re: Desktop Icons not shown in WIndows 7
Jslegers,
there's no difference between ZCM 10 and ZCM 11 in that regard, both
will wait for the random time specified for the zone (between 5 and 6
minutes) before refreshing

Re: Desktop Icons not shown in WIndows 7
Solved that problem also with a command in the login script.
zac ref general bypasscache
Works like a charm.
