Yes, that is what I am saying. Or wait for the Novell updates to be
made available again, but that could be a while from now.

See the agent version listed in this screen-shot?

Re: Discovery tasks pending

Thanks for the screen shot i went right to it. I saw your version was
listed under agents. i opened my server proerties screen and i have
nothing listed under agents. I guess i should see something that states
"Bundle Module x.x.x" nothing is there. Is that my problem. DO i have to
reinstall the agent to the server for this to work?

That is bad. Does the server have a firewall?

Look at the zmd.log in "program files\novell\zenworks\logs\localstore"

Re: Discovery tasks pending

Server firewall disabled. I am not sure if i chose to use SSL or not
during the install. Would that make a difference?

I opened the log but, i am unsure what to look for. Cani e-mail it to you?

Re: Discovery tasks pending

Make sure you read my last post. Also, i am running this on WIN server
2003 r2. I installed the ZCM module under sp1 and made sure it worked.
After that I installed sp2. Do you think that is the issue?

No worry, there isn't any such option during the install.

Sp1 and SP2 should both work properly.

Re: Discovery tasks pending

It seems to me that you need a dns record after looking at the log file.

I would edit "c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts" and add the server
hostname to the IP address that the server has been assigned.

I would point to the real IP of the server and not 127.0.0.1
Reboot after this and make sure that you can ping the hostname after
rebooting.

Re: Discovery tasks pending

For the record, looking at zmd.log, the log you sent me, I found the
following errors log.

[DEBUG] [11/13/2007 1:48:25 PM] [] [RegistrationManager] [] [Unable to
register the device with any service] [] [] [DEBUG] [11/13/2007
1:48:25 PM] [] [RegistrationManager] [] [Error during device
registration: Unable to register the device with any service. See log
for details.] [] [] [DEBUG] [11/13/2007 1:48:25 PM] []
[RegistrationManager] [] [Unable to update device status with any
service] [] []

This does show attempts to register with the ZCM system, but fails as
it could not query for running services. This would make me think that
reverse lookup is failing.
