Google Chrome and Group Policies

ZCM 11.3. I want to push out Google Chrome MSI and use Group Policies
to set it up. I created the Group Policy and pushed it via ZCM. What
I have found is that some of the settings will apply and some won't.
If I look at the policy in gpedit.msc, the ones that are not applying
state: "This policy is not available on Windows instances that are not
joined to an Active Directory domain." I don't have an AD domain. The
policies that don't apply are in Home page and Startup pages. Anyone
know of a workaround for this?

Thanks!

Not with GPOs Settings.
There may be other ways to push some Chrome Settings.
Chrome will actively check to see if you are on a domain, and if not actively ignore the GPO settings in place.

After a little more trial and error, I am using GPO settings for some
and then I am pushing out a master_preferences file for the settings
that require a domain. A bit of a kludge, but it should work for me.
Annoying when programmers make an assumption and require an AD domain.

Re: Google Chrome and Group Policies

I could possibly make an small executable that read the GPO settings and then modified the master_preferences file.
This way only specific items would be forced.
Let me know if there is interest.
I would need a copy of the GPO you are using and the settings you are most concerned with.

Let me know..............

Thanks for the offer, but my goal would be to not use the
master_preferences file. That only affects the Chrome profile at
first time use. I would rather have something that applies to the
user profile all the time - which is why I wanted the GPO to work.
