Imaging Driver Update - Segmentation Fault

Dear ZENworks Forum,

applying Imaging Driver Update zenworks11.3.2_FRU1_Dec15 causes the Imaging process, started via pxe - "Start ZENworks Imaging Maintenance" - img - "Restore Image" on a Workstation, getting a Segmentation fault. Workstation does not get imaged.
The old Drivers were rolled back with the command ./imaging_driver_update.sh -r and Imaging is functioning again.

Primary Server System is:

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 (x86_64)
VERSION = 11
PATCHLEVEL = 3

ZCM : 11.3.1.0

Database: internal sybase

Is thera way to apply the Imaging Driver Update zenworks11.3.2_FRU1_Dec15 successfully?

Thank you for hints.

Kind regards

Florian

Did you reupload the tuxera driver in ZCC?

Since this driver update contains a new kernel version the tuxera driver also needs to be updated.

Re: Imaging Driver Update - Segmentation Fault

Hello Thomas,

your hint resolves the problem. Thank you very much.

For another ZEN Zone it's not possible to update the Tuxera Driver. Downloading the tntfs.zip from the link in ZCC and uploading this file produces the message "Checksum of the uploaded Tuxera NTFS driver file does not match with the expected checksum in the NTFSDriver.conf file".
- Renamed the files /srv/tftp/tntfs.ko and /etc/opt/novell/zenworks/preboot/NTFSDriver.conf and did a /etc/init.d/novell-pbserv restart -> same error message.

- Changed the "driver_checksum=" entry in /etc/opt/novell/zenworks/preboot/NTFSDriver.conf to the value of the md5sum check for the tntfs.ko from the unzipped \tntfs\x86_64\tntfs.ko. Restarted /etc/init.d/novell-pbserv -> same error message.

- Manually copied the current tntfs.ko to /srv/tftp/ and set the "driver_checksum=" entry to the appropriate value. Restarted /etc/init.d/novell-pbserv -> same error message.

ZCM System:

two primary servers - external sybase

Primary Server System is:

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 (x86_64)
VERSION = 11
PATCHLEVEL = 3

ZCM : 11.3.1.0

Perhaps you have another hint to resolve this issue?
Thank you in advance.

So you have ran the zenworks11.3.2_FRU1_Dec1 update in this zone? If so then verify that driver_checksum=8787c71580f1052fe5876220b288fa90 is in /etc/opt/novell/zenworks/preboot/NTFSDriver.conf. If it is then try to upload tuxera in ZCC.
If that doesn't work then try to download https://tuxera.com/download/novell/zenworks/3.0.101-63-default/tntfs.zip, you can see that there are 2 tntfs.ko files in the zip, one for x86 and one for x86_64, so you should copy each of those into their respective folders under /srv/tftp... Does it work then?

Re: Imaging Driver Update - Segmentation Fault

Hello Thomas,

i've ran the zenworks11.3.2_FRU1_Dec1 update and the checksum in /etc/opt/novell/zenworks/preboot/NTFSDriver.conf shows the value you mentioned. I found that the path to the tntfs.ko in the file /srv/tftp/HighPerfDriver.conf was wrong. Now the content of the HighPerfDriver.conf shows following:
#
#Wed Sep 16 12:50:27 CEST 2015
NTFSDriver=11.3.1/x86/tntfs.ko
NTFSDriver_x64=11.3.1/x86_64/tntfs.ko

Copied the tntfs.ko to the these folders (/srv/tftp/11.3.1/x86/, /srv/tftp/11.3.1/x86_64/) did a /etc/init.d/novell-pbserv restart and started an imaging process via pxe -> tuxera drivers are loaded (checked with lsmode | grep tntfs), imaging works also after the zenworks11.3.2_FRU1_Dec1 update.

Problem solved!
Only the reupload of the tuxera driver via ZCC shows the mentioned error message.

Thank you very much for your support.

Kind regard
