Import Novell Client ADM to Zen 10

What is the secret to creating a Policy in Zenworks 10 that controls the Novell client? I do not see any place that I can import an ADM file and then create a policy using it.

Another question is will the client ADM file 4.9 work for the Vista 64 Novell client? If not, is or will there be one soon for Vista?

Thanks

adm files are added to the group policy. In the group policy helper
application right click on the administration templates folder, and
choose new, ( or add not 100% sure on the wording )

We are using a browser to access Zen 10 Console. If I click on the Policy section, I do not see the group policy helper you are suggesting. I can create a new policy, but I only have certain options, and not one for new.

Re: Import Novell Client ADM to Zen 10

When you go to create a group policy in the ZCC ( using a Firefox 2 or
IE 7 ). You will have to install the group policy plugin for the
browser. This then allows you to create and manage group policies. Look
for the hyperlink prompting you to install the group policy helper.

You could ask the author... oh wait, that's me - I hadn't planned to,
but I could try to find time if there was demand...

Re: Import Novell Client ADM to Zen 10

There is demand...I hope at least. We are in the process of rolling our Vista 64 Business because of an CAD application, Revit, that just needs the extra resources. We held off as long as we could but were forced to move on. We have the Novell client loaded and all works fine, but we would just like to turn off some of the Novell options the client installs. We also had to upgrade to Zen 10 for the Vista support. If you do an update to the adm file, please let me know!

thanks.

Re: Import Novell Client ADM to Zen 10

Hello!

I have tested adding custom ADM-files with both XP and Windows 2008. It works fine in XP but when doing the same in Windows 2008 the add window remains empty after adding the adm-files but when starting GPEDIT.MSC they are there and there is no problem adding more adm-files.

Best wishes!

Found a "work around". Edit the policys in Windows Vista. The policys made for Vista seems to work fine for windows 2008 and all the custom settings from the ADM-files seems to work fine.

Best wishes!
