Issue deploying Novell Client 2 SP3 updates.

Greetings;

When I deploy updates to Novell Client 2 SP3 via ZCM bundles I am
getting errors during the file copy process of the Novell Client
install. I get pop-up error messages similar to "Setup cannot copy the
file ncnetprovider.dll" If I select retry the file copies successfully
and the installation continues. The file name is not always the same
and this happens for 1 to 7 files during the installation process. This
happens on most of our workstations. This has happened with the last
few IR releases (not sure about anything earlier). This happens for
bundles that I create manually as well as bundles from patch management.

To work around this issue I create a bundle, assign the shortcut to the
user's desktop, then ask the users to double click to run the install
and click on "retry" whenever the error pops up. Not ideal, but it is
at least a work around.

If I copy the Novell Client installation to the workstation and run it
manually I do not have any issues.

Any ideas as to what is causing the bundle deployments to behave this way?

and does it happen if they run the app outside of ZENworks?

If I manually copy the same install files I used to create my bundle to
a workstation, then manually run ACU.exe I've never gotten the pop-up
error message.

Brad,

could it be anti-virus? If it works after a retry, then it's likely to
be outside of ZEN's control I think. Are you running this as
system/DAU/User? Anything at all in the logs?

I haven't tried running with AV turned off. I will give that a try as
soon as I have time.

The "Launch Executable" action is set to run as Dynamic Administrator.

Which logs should I be looking at?

The ZCM agent log. Set it to debug in the ZCm Agent UI before trying.
