Login Issue after upgrading zo 11.1 on Win7SP1 WS

Did an update from 10.3.3 to 11.1.

Primary Server (SLES11.1), Sattelite Server (2008R2) went well.

XP Workstation Upate (Novell Client installed) also without any probs.

Updated the first Win7Pro 64Bit WS with Novell Client 2SP1 (IR8):
Installation finishes without problems.

After reboot I enter the login credentials for Novell Client, this was succesful.

BUT:
Then the ZCM Login Screen appears:
"Unable to log into the network because the login
credentials or the server certificate is incorrect."

I can cancel this - but this causes me not logged into ZCM.

Tried to zac unreg, zac reg without any results.
Tried to manually reinstall Casa.msi and authtokenclient.msi (helps when updating 10.3.2 to 10.3.3 earlier this year...) - no luck.

UAC is disabled. And yes it is Win7 Pro 64 Bit with SP1.

ZCM Agent is working so far as I can see, the device bundles are all there, but I can't login so the user bundles, policies do not work.

Any help?

Hello,

we have exactly the same problem and situation.
All WS with ZCM11.0 Agent are running well.
I recreated the agent and reinstalled, no differences.
Actually we are searching for a solution.

Glad I am not alone. 🙂
Additional: WS with ZCM10.3.3 are running fine here.

Does a Fresh Agent install work?

If not.......
Can u verify the OSTargets.XML looks good.
I know it would be odd for it to be bad, but since XP works......

Craig!

I completely uninstalled ZCM Agent incl. Casa and Preagent. New install runs fine, but after reboot, result is the same. 😞

What do you mean with OSTargets.xml? Where to find the file?

Re: Login Issue after upgrading zo 11.1 on Win7SP1 WS

This is confusing.

Can you explain that New Install works, but then install it does not work?

Do you mean that you can logon, but if you reboot the machine then
logons break?

Can you test this.......

Remove the ZCM Agent.
Remove any AV/Security Software.
Reboot and Reinstall the ZCM agent.
Does it work through reboots?

I cant help but wonder if something is messing with the agent if it
works then stops on reboot.

Re: Login Issue after upgrading zo 11.1 on Win7SP1 WS

No, I never could logon at any time.

I checked your list:
Removed the ZCM Agent
Removed the AV/Sec Software
Reboot and Reinstall the ZCM agent. (incl. Casa)

Does it work through reboots?
No, it does not 😞

Started Services:
Novell Identity Store
Novell XTier Service Manager
Novell Zenworks Agent Service

Re: Login Issue after upgrading zo 11.1 on Win7SP1 WS

Are you able to open an SR?

We may be able to proceed, but I suspect your issue may be something
completely different.

Apologies if these questions have been asked, but it's a long thread........

Does the WS properly update it's last connect date on refresh?
Turn Firewall off?

Re: Login Issue after upgrading zo 11.1 on Win7SP1 WS

I have openend a SR: No: 10719774844

Regarding your questions:
1. WS is properly updated by refresh. All device bundles and policies are ok. But of course not a user bundle, cause I am not able to login. Tried several accounts. Edir and AD.

2. Firewall (Windows own - no 3rd Party) is off.

Re: Login Issue after upgrading zo 11.1 on Win7SP1 WS

Update:

Uninstalled 11.1 Agent.
Installed 10.3.3 Agent again.

Same situation: All device based bundles/policies work here. No user login possible.

Agent contacts well with Zenworks. Showed up the Agent Version 10.3.3.44626 now.

Tried to repair authtokenclient.msi and casa.msi - (64bit versions) - no luck.....

Mmmm - it definitively worked here before upgrading to 11.1.

Got a virtual-box-xp image on the same pc (Novell Client installed): All upgrading ok. Login went like a charme....(same user credentials).

Don't like to reinstall whole pc cause of zenworks update.... 😞

[solved]: Login Issue after upgrading zo 11.1 on Win7SP1 WS

First of all the good news: I finally managed to login with the 11.1 agent.

How? Well after downgrading to 10.3.3 I could not login anymore. So I did an upgrade again and (couldn't believe my eyes) the login went through after Novell Logon. No ZCM Login appears - whooohooo!

Retried it several times, logoff - logon, reboot - all fine now.

Remark: An Update from a co-workers pc (also Win7 SP1 64) worked well after we reinstalled authtokenclient_64 and casa_64. So the behaviour was different from mine...

Hope the other Win7 PCs (only 5 so far) will do the upgrade without these annoying problems....
😮

Doesnt really fit the topic but helped me out.

ZCM Agent is working so far as I can see, the device bundles are all

Any help?
