Notification Area

Hi,

It is possible set the ZCM client by default: "Show Icon and notifications" in the Notification area ?

Because my users are "lost" the first time they use Windows 7 and they don't seen the blue "Z" near the time.

Thank you

I don't think you can but you can show all icons in the Notification area by setting this reg key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer : EnableAutoTray = 0

Re: Notification Area

As I understand it, there is no way to automate or specify which icons should be set to "show icon and notifications". Microsoft apparently did this to keep the users experience entirely customized and up to them, so no third party apps can force themselves to be displayed. It is a noble cause, but terrible in practice for the managed network world.
