Patch Management not working on a Windows 8 Pro x64 workstation

We are using ZCM 11.2.3a MU1

All patches are being detected as not applicable on one of our Windows 8 Pro
x64 machines. We have two other Win 8 Pro x64 machines where patches are
being detected. On the failing machine all entries in the debug.log look
like:
"Opening file:

Note: OS Platform = [Microsoft Windows 8 Unknown x64]
On a functioning workstation OS Platform = [Microsoft Windows 8
Professional x64]

I opened an SR, but was told that Windows 8 Pro is not supported with
11.2.3a MU1, only Windows 8 Enterprise. Because patches are being detected
on our other two Win 8 pro machines I am hoping there is a way to get it
working on this malfunctioning one.

Has anyone else run into this issue with Windows 8 Pro not detecting
patches? Did you come up with a work around?

I would get the ZPM/ZCM patch that I posted on July 17, "ZCM/ZPM
11.2.3a MU1 Patch Management Agent fix for Some Patches not updating
Patched status (see TID 7012721) and Unable to detect the latest 32 bit
patches when using a Windows Server (see TID 7012776)" - not sure if it
directly will affect you but can't hurt. What was your SR number
please, as I am unaware of any limitation in this way...

shows that it is. We'll get the first one fixed. Do you want your SR reopened?

I received an email from the engineer handling my SR stating this same
thing. He has reopened the SR and requested the zeninfo. I will get that
off to him this morning.

I spoke to him and found out why he'd mistakenly closed your SR: thanks
to this we found the bad info in the docs and we'll get it fixed. Score
one for the Forums 🙂
