Remote control variably very slow from Win10
ZCM17 appliance with update 2
We haven't seen any issues remote controlling From Win7 systems, but
the Win10 management systems have been having all kinds of delay and
connection drops.
While it varies some by browser (Chrome and Firefox not usable, Edge
works but poky, IE appears the best but with many reported issues along
the way.
Our helpdesk guy keeps dropping to Teamviewer just to get his job done.
Dropping the firewall didn't make any difference I could see.
VPN vs local doesn't make a difference.
Where else can I look at? Figured check here before diving into an SR.

I've never heard of any such issues and W10 seems to be the most common platform for administration.
I guess it may depend on where the delays are....are they in loading the Helper......or elsewhere....
I know there is a ticket open to request to make the helper stay memory resident so it does not need to load over and over....
But that is the same on Win7 and that does not seem to be the target of your post....

The Helper loads fast enough (except for that first time where needing to
install it and the java bits ;).
The helpdesk guy has always complained about the performace on the old
zcm11.3 system, which we just chalked up to being an issue with that being
the last to not recognize Win10 devices as such.
I've been using it without issue on Win7 for ages (maybe I'm just too
patient) and after hearing it was still an issue tried on another system,
again without issue where we could even zoom in and out with Google Earth.
Then I tried with our small Win10 notebook that hasn't had much on it,
and for once could see the issue clearly.
I've been able to see multiple second differences between zcm remote vs
vSphere client where I see a click result on the vSphere council session
well before the zcm side catches up, even for basic things such as opening
a simple GroupWise email.
Of course on these tests I was seeing this on both Win7 and Win10, so that
might be a red herring. Testing with three views of the same device up
with both a Win7 and Win10 management box remoted in with a consistant 1.5
to 2 second delay in things happening in opening and closing GW messages
as compared to the vSphere view. But not noticeable delay in typing,
hmmm. And this is with Firefox on the Win10 management system that was so
much slower last night. So there is some other variable in here that is
making this one a challenge.

I may have misunderstood your issue........
Is the Issue with Running the ZCC on a Win7 vs Win10?
Or
Is the Issue Managing a Win10 vs Win7?

Perhaps both of us as the helpdesk guy who keeps complaining doesn't
give any reproducible information.
And from my testing, it appears very variable
I am grilling the helpdesk guy to keep better data on what is working
and what is not working.
so, how much a delay is acceptable? If I'm side by side with a system
being controlled, how long/short after a window is painted on the
system should I see it on the management box. I was seeing up to 2
seconds in the matrix of all 4 combinations of Win7|Win10 on either
end, though text worked a full speed in these last tests.
Previous night was to a different Win10 box that I had worked on
remotely from my Win7 w/Firefox with out any noticeable issues but the
Win10 box was totally unusable with Chrome or Firefox but was very
workable on Edge/IE

haven't had a chance to push through those tests yet or applied U3, but very much keeping an eye on that
thread. The client wants me focused on other things at the moment.
FYI, your blog link doesn't work for me. You might want to check it. I've tried both being authenticated and
not, in different browsers.

Yeah...The Blog Link is Dead.......
The Forums used to have a Blog section but no longer does 😞
I've been meaning to create a new blog but have never gotten around to it.
The Forum Blog worked well for me because the goal was never anything flashy....."just the facts ma'am" type of stuff.

Perhaps we might have that again when we merge all the Micro Focus
forums on to the same system.
In the mean time there is your CoolSolutions author page
