Segmentation fault imaging Dell 5500 on satellite server

Jump to solution
Hi ,

Specs: ZENworks 2017 Update 2 (2 primaries 10 satellites (SLES12SP2)).

2 month's ago we bought new Dell Latitude 5500 series.

These laptops were not imageable with ZENworks.

Then the imaging Update August 2019 came out, we applied that update and the 5500 series is working.

In our main site we image already 10 5500 without any problem. This is via our primary server.

In our affiliates we also imaged already a few 5500 without any problem. This is via our satellite server.

However we have a problem in our affiliate in Poland the imaging of 5500 is not working via the satellite.
Already before the imaging script loads we get the following error:
2524 Segmentation fault /bin/img -zenpart -find > / tmp/device.s
In Poland we can image other Dell series fine (E5570 5590) with the same image.
I checked the md5sum of the images, tuxera driver they are the same as in other sites.
Also reboot of the satellite did not fix it.

Any ideas?

Kr,
Joeri Feyen

We run ZENworks 2017 Update 2 , we have imaging driver update 4 from august 2019 on SLES12 SP2. We have new Dell laptops type 5500. As soon as the imaging is loaded we get a segmentation fault.  the img restore command also do not work and give a segmentation faults. Two images are attached that show the errors. All other laptop types work fine with the imaging. Did you already met the problem? Kr, Joeri

I think it is a device with M2. PCIe NVME hard drive.

In the BIOS, try to change the S-ATA mode from "Raid on" to "AHCI"
