Some register, some do not...

I am having a problem with ZCM agents registering to my server. Some register and some do not. I am pushing them out via a login script. Here is a piece of the log file for one of my agents that have not registered.

Re: Some register, some do not...

Here is a window of the Zen properties. Yes, the IP of this and the IP in the log are different because I got them from two different computers. The Zen properties of the computer that I got the log file from looked just like this.

Forgot to mention, ZCM 10.1.1 server, Win XP Pro clients.

Did you do by any chance a ZAM 7.5 migration before?

Nope. First I have no idea what ZAM is and second, this is a brand new ZCM server.

Re: Some register, some do not...

OK, just wanted to know!

Other things to check.

Are all the services started on the server?
Services.msc there all grouped together. 10 services in all.

[DEBUG] [10/23/2008 14:58:24.140] [1880] [ZenworksWindowsService] [3] [] [Status Sender] [] [FileOperator: UploadToServer: failed as no upload service found] [] []
This error message might point to one service.

And check the event logs of Windows to see if there are any restarts of services.

Re: Some register, some do not...

It is on a OES box.

Re: Some register, some do not...

Services are there too

Check the Linux services by using the configuration command

On the server, run the following command:

/opt/novell/zenworks/bin/novell-zenworks-configure ‑c SystemStatus
This lists all ZENworks services and their statuses.

To start the services, run the following command:

/opt/novell/zenworks/bin/novell-zenworks-configure ‑c Start

Check the Linux services by using the specific services’ commands
On the server, run the following commands:

/etc/init.d/novell-zenserver status
/etc/init.d/novell-zenloader status
If the services are not running, run the following commands to start the ZENworks services:

/etc/init.d/novell-zenserver start
/etc/init.d/novell-zenloader start

We dont use OES, so you'll need to read a bit as we are on Windows.

Re: Some register, some do not...

If I run /opt/novell/zenworks/bin/novell-zenworks-configure ‑c SystemStatus I get this.

If I run the /opt/novell/zenworks/bin/novell-zenworks-configure ‑c Start command I get this.

Re: Some register, some do not...

/opt/novell/zenworks/bin/novell-zenworks-configure ‑c Start command
This would be the right command, you control your services from this window.
They seem up and running. A restart of the server, as its always the first thing to do is to try out.!

Then, have you tried registering the failing workstations.

open command prompt and type:
zac reg https://<servername>

you can add > c:\agentlog.txt at the end of the command to have a log of the responses and post them back. the command will look like this:
zac reg -u <zcm admin user> -p <admin pwd> https://<servername > c:\agentlog.txt

Are you migrating from a previous version of Zenworks or starting out with a fresh Zenworks environment?
