Unable to register Agent (10.1)

A little description of the environment first:
Server : Linux SLES SP1
Zenworks: aupgrade to 10.1 with post-upgrade successfully applied
Workstation: XP SP2 and SP3

Problem: We are in the process of migrating the workstations from ZEN7 to ZEN10. All configuration have been migrated without problem. I first started doing my own machine to see what was missing.

Migration:
I deployed the ZCM agent without any problem. Zen7 gets uninstalled and the zen10 takes his place. REBOOT
At first the agent wasnt registered to the server...so I simply did it manually
zac reg -u user -p pass https://myserver.domain.com:443
No problem again, the device was imported and received the applications & policies.

When I get to the second and third computer, I deploy the agent, like the first one it doesnt register...so I send the ZAC command and it gives me this error message:
Unable to register with the server at: http://myserver:port
RegistrationManager - Network error connecting to server: Unable to connect
to the remote server

I get this error on both second and third machine. Also, here's the debug output...

**Just before you ask, I tried with the IP and DNS. I can Ping DNS and IP of the server. Im able to register some test workstations and laptops....

Here's the log file (DEBUG)

Updates...

Just to let you guys know, I just updated both workstations to SP3 and they all have the latest windows update installed.

I saw on the internet that "Unable to connect to the server" was often linked with the .net versions so I simply installed the .net 3.0 SP1...but it didnt help.

So here I am with a bizard problem and I can't seems to find a solution....PLEASE I NEED HELP!!!!

Thanks

I just re-imaged an old laptop and started the migration.....NO PROBLEM To register with ZCM10.1 (WTF) The station has No sp3 no windows update done.....it has the old novell client ! I just don't understand.....

Since it works for that one I tested with another computer and I get the same error message....Im starting to stress a little since I need to do more then 150 stations.

I was wondering if there's something I need to to before migrating the workstations?? Please help!! Thanks!

Have you ever configred any type of IE Proxy configuration on your PCs.
I'm not worried with what you think you have now, but mostly if you have
ever had it.
There are some hidden places the settings can linger and effect stuff.

I have a similar problem / configuration where IE Proxy configurations have existed in the past. IE7 settings have been cleared out. Do you have particular hidden places I could take a look?

Thanks,

LS

#1 - There should be some updates from Novell coming that should help.
Nothing that is available publicly, but if you contact them they should be
able to get you a file.
In short, .NET was picking up some of this stuff and running with it for
some .NET calls even though it was not told to use them by IE or ZCM. The
new files turn this off.

#2 - Prior to learning about what was happening above, some customers had
this issue and what we did was open the local Group Policy Editor on the PC
and browsed to the IE Proxy section.
It appeared blank, but was not really. So we entered some garbage values
and saved. We then opened it up and cleared the garbage values and resaved.
Things were now truly cleared.
(Note: It took a LONG time to find that one.........The not really blank
field that looked blank kicked my tail for a while.)

I tried the GPEdit option on the server having the issue but couldn't get it to respond correctly. Perhaps due to its being part of a Windows Domain? I didn't go as far as looking at the domain controller's group policy.

I did get the file from Novell which worked very well for me. Thank you very much for your response.

Could you please send me the file, I've been looking for a solution to this error too.

Thank you.

Skypointer,

when you get a file from Novell, you are specifically asked not to
share it with others, because Novell wants to be able to keep track of
who has the file, in case there is a problem discovered.

Can someone possibly tell me the process to obtain said file?
I have up to 1200 workstations to deploy and have encountered this issue on several workstations already.

Cheers.
