User Variables

Does anyone know what variable you can use to create a unique user file for
each individual? I created an application object with the settings given in
both the help file and the documentation, but it creates a file named
%ddna_user% so it's not reading that variable properly.

Anyone know the correct syntax?

Re: User Variables

Nathan,
i vaguely remember about a %GUID% variable used with an app object ?
But that is not random and unique. Maybe just a few variables from a
user and make that along string ?
Just an idea.

Re: User Variables

Our user file names are the same but we put them in a directory with the
users name in it, based on their user name. ie, my username is John-Doe, my
file would be under \John-Doe\ZEN_DDNA.dna. Obiously, it helps that our
user names are helpful real names.

Here's our parameters line:

/%DDNA_ACTION% %DDNA_DATA%\%DDNA_USER%\%DDNA_WS% /T
%DDNA_SOURCE%\Templates\%DDNA_TEMPLATE%.dtf /M /X %DDNA_SILENT% [this is
all one line]

Variables are:
DDNA_ACTION: D
DDNA_DATA: \\SOMESERVERNAME\APPS\DDNA\DDNAData
DDNA_SOURCE: \\SOMESERVERNAME\APPS\DDNA
DDNA_TEMPLATE: ZENpack
DDNA_USER: %CN%
DDNA_WS: ZEN_DDNA

Nathan,

Did you try %CN% for the DDNA_USER?
