Win7 shutdown/startup issues

We are just getting started with ZCM 11, coming from a Zen 7 environment. I
have the server installed and have installed the agent on a few Win7
machines. These machines also have the Novell Client installed. When
performing a reboot these machines will often hang during the shutdown
process. The only way to get them out of this state is to physically power
the machine off, then on. Also, when logging in there are times when the
login process will hang. The screen will show Novell login successful, and
there is a Cancel button in the lower part of the screen, but the machine
will never proceed from this point. Is anyone else seeing problems like
this? Could they be related to the Zen agent, or do I need to look
elsewhere for the problem?

I am seeing the same thing. I am also having a problem with the casaatsd service on my server. I do not know if they are related. Can you restart all your zen services without error?

server is running on SUSE 10 sp3.

I had something similar on Server 2008 boxes. Did you have CASA installed on the PCs before installing the agent? If you did, I suggest you try to uninstall the agent on a test PC, untick the option to keep CASA, and then reinstall the agent & see if that fixes the issues.

I don't believe CASA was installed prior to the Zen agent install. These
were new boxes. About the only thing installed prior to the Zen Agent was
the Novell Client and our Antivirus software.

I have the same issue with a Dell Optiplex 720 client, Windows XP sP3 and the last novell client, any suggest??

Definitely do a new Thread for any Windows XP issues.
Win7 may be a known issue under very specific conditions with a patch in
the works.

In our case these are all Windows 7 machines. In addition to the
shutdown/startup issues they also experience a problem where Internet
Explorer becomes completeley unresponsive. I opened an SR with Novell
Support. I have been informed that they are working to create an FTF to
address this.

The last I heard was yesterday and I was told they are working on an FTF,
but no time frame was given. I will let you know when I hear more.

just to add my voice of despair to the others. Yep we are having all the above issues with our setup (fresh install of zcm 11 on a sles 10 64bit server MSSQL DB, with win 7 32 bit clients).

We are also having the same problem where the browser freezes/locks. And the only way is to hard power the computer off. Trying to stop the application or process doesn't work for me. And it occurs while using Mozilla and Internet Explorer. So it is not browser specific. But it only happens on our Win7 clients and we also have the Novell client installed. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling and that doesn't fix the issue.
