Windows June 2016 Rollup (KB3161608) may break ZCM Communica

The Windows June 2016 Rollup patches contain previously released security fixes to address the "Logjam SSL Vulnerability", which could impact unpatched Pre-ZCM 11.4.x Primary Servers.

Patches for ZCM 11.3.x were released in September 2015 for this issue.

So is this why the 11.4 update that I attempted has failed? See my recent
post on a Java error. This system has the june 2016 update installed.

Ahem, no?! You were seeing a problem on Linux (SLES) updating ZCM, which
was expected and explained, this about possible communication problems
of the ZCM Agent after a *Windows* patch.

Re: Windows June 2016 Rollup (KB3161608) may break ZCM Communica

I can confirm that this issue IS linked to KB3161608, and that the registry key mentioned in knowledgebase article 7017778 DOES fix the issue.

About two weeks ago, our Windows 10 systems started having issues with the ZCM agent not communicating with our ZCM servers. From Internet Explorer they would get "Page could not be displayed", and if I opened a command prompt and ran "zac retr" I would get "RegistrationManager - Network error connecting to server: The request was aborted: Could not create SSL/TLC secure channel".

Adding the registry entries immediately resolves the issue, no reboot required.

Now all I need to do is figure out how to push this registry key to all of my affected Windows 10 workstations...

There have been unconfirmed reports of issues with KB3161608.
Please Test before Deploying.

See - https://www.novell.com/support/kb/doc.php?id=7017778
Details will be posted in TID as more is learned.

Again, None of the facts or details are confirmed but caution is
recommended until details are confirmed.

I seem to be having this issue, but the TID doesn't seem to exist any more. Is there a fix other than uninstalling the update?

Is anyone seeing this issue on ZCM 11.4.x?

If on 11.3.x, Have you applied the Logjam fixes from Last Sept?

At this point in time, we only have reports from ZCM 11.3.x and prior customers.
The work-assumption at this point is that this is the same LogJam issue, but new customers are now seeing it due to the Fix from MS being more widely included in other patches.
