ZCC Accessissues

I have a new ZCM 10 install on Windows 2008 server with SQL 2005 std. The
install of ZCM goes smoothly but when I try to access the ZCC for the first
time, I get a password error. I have tried to use "Admininistrator",
"zenadmin" with the password and still no luck. I chose SQL authentication
mode during the install and on the database screen during the install of
ZCM, the password field is grayed out. From the "help" button, I thought I
was supposed to be able to use "Administrator" and the password I created
during the install, but this does not work. Can anyone shed any light on
this?

Re: ZCC Accessissues

The password used for ZCC should indeed be the "Administrator" password
defined during the install. No other password or account would be valid
after the initial install.

If you logon to Windows on your 2008 Server, and look at the "Z" Icon.

Under "ZENworks Server Properties, are "Managment ZOne", Server DNS, and
"Server Address" properly populated?

If you hit refresh on the "Z" Icon, does the "Last Contact with Server"
update properly?

If all of these are correct, then it would seem your DB is operating
properly with ZCM and perhaps when you entered the initial password, you
fingers may have been slightly off kilter and the letters hit were not
what you intended.

If you entered a highly complex password with unusual characters,
perhaps there was an issue with that being processed properly.

Also, Make sure that your DB Server is not configured with "Dynamic Ports".

Re: ZCC Accessissues

Since this is a VM, I rolled back to a preinstall snap shot and reinstalled.
The only think I changed was giving the zone a shorter name. It worked this
time.

Thanks for telling me where to look.
