Re: ZENworks server could not be located!?!

No certificate error. I will log your suggestion for future use, but we might have accidentally tripped over a resolution to this issue. We had to restart the primary server for an unrelated issue and voila, everything started working again. We haven't had a chance to even do the DB maintanence yet but apparently it was unrelated.

It's bothersome because I don't understand it, but relieving for now. I've been keeping a close eye on it as we have only deployed ZCM to about half of our clients, we halted our roll-out due to this very issue. I'll be sure to let you know if we start seeing it again. I believe I'm still having an issue with the one satellite but it's probably more appropriate for another forum.

Thank you so much for your help with this. You gave me some fresh ideas for what to try or look for in the future.

Any certificate error? Also does the certificate look valid and the
subject match the machine name and match what zac cc -l displays

Re: ZENworks server could not be located!?!

Sorry to keep bumping this thread, but it looks like I was wrong, the system simply hasn't started reporting the errors since the restart. I'll give what has been discussed a try and update as necessary. In the mean time I've re-created the problem bundle to see if that makes any difference on the affected clients.

Re: ZENworks server could not be located!?!

In the workstation log, it's trying to contact http://67.215.65.132:8080

Is that the server? Can the workstation ping that IP can it telnet that
port?

Re: ZENworks server could not be located!?!

Still haven't had a chance to revisit this but that is a raging clue, it must not have been resolving dns properly and hit openDNS rather than the server it was supposed to, which is really strange considering I can see it communicating with valid server addresses in Wireshark... Regarding the specific bundle in question, re-creating it seemed to "fix" it so we're still thinking the database might be causing some of our drama, but restarting the primary also seemed to heal a bunch of other strange errors that haven't returned since.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

For now things seem to be pretty stable. We have halted further roll-out until we can complete the database maintanence and figure out what we're doing wrong or missing here. Hopefully we can resume our effort soon.
