automatic recplication to satellite server

Hello NG

I try to find in my documentation the settings, how to automatically
replicate Images and Bundles to the satellite server. Where can I do this?

Re: automatic recplication to satellite server

You can control this at the folder or bundle level. In the settings tab.

You can also control when this content is replicated

Re: automatic recplication to satellite server

I configured the replication. But i don't find the replication of my images
on the /var/opt/novell/zenworks/content-repo on the satellite server....

And how does the workstation find the correct server when it tries to reach
the bundles?

Re: automatic recplication to satellite server

Even if Image Bundles are created?

Re: automatic recplication to satellite server

Jared,

yes, because a Preboot bundle references a server and location

Ramon Lustrati,

This is done with Closest Server Rules or Location Policies. The
workstation contacts the Primary server that it knows about (The first one
being the one defined in the Agent Install). Once the workstation has
contact the primary server, the primary server, using the rules defined
above, will direct the workstation to the correct primary or satellite.
The workstation will then continue to use that server.

Re: automatic recplication to satellite server

Hello Jared

Thank you about the answer of my question. But what happens, when the link
to the primary server will be down? Does the workstation contact the primary
server only the first time?

There is an Agent timeout. So the agent will try to contact the specified
"correct" server each time, but if that server is unreachable the timeout
will be reached and the next server will be contacted. I imagine there is
a bad server cache too, but I don't remember off the top. The bad server
cache would prevent the workstation from trying the bad server with EACH
request.
