is there a way to force the remote management listener to auto-load at bootup on a windows xp box?

Not sure if it can be started as a service. But, there is a command line option that you could use in a .bat file in your Startup folder or as a shortcut with the command line option added.

After you have run the viewer once it is located in the bin folder, depending on your OS, the path is typically c:\documents and settings\<username>\ApplicationData\Novell\ZENWorks\Remote Management\bin\.

So, the command line would be: <path>\nzrviewer.exe /listen 5550
