running batch file from public folder

It seems that the zen 11 agent on Windows 7 can't read from a shared folder where public on a Netware server has read rights? It does work in zen 7 on xp.

Errors regarding illegal characters in path (unc path whether or not double quoted). And access denied messages. But public has read rights... or does the zen 11 agent only works with a samba share? Novell client is installed of course.

Any ideas?

Re: running batch file from public folder

It's a batch file that must run as system or temp admin...

Re: running batch file from public folder

The ZCM Agent does not play any role in this.

Access to the Network Share is controlled by the Novell Client 2 for
Windows.

Questions about Client 2 for Windows 7 accessing Public Shares should be
asked there.

In your batch, you could add a "Net Use" command and pass in some
credentials to get access. Yes, "Net Use" does work against NDS and NCP
resources.

Re: running batch file from public folder

Yes it seems like it is... Under XP I can access the share under a computer only account..
Windows 7 with Novell client that is not the case... 0x80004005 access denied.

Re: running batch file from public folder

Hi rinzwind,

Info: ZCM 11.1 has the support for credential vault for the following actions.
Copy Files, Copy Directory, Create/Delete Directory, Install Files, Install Directory, Install Network MSI, and Launch Executable actions

You can configure run script action to be able to select the credential from credential vault that has access to the public folder.
