CPU Utilization for ndsd process raising high !!!

Hi

The CPU utilization for ndsd process is raising suddenly to high causing overall server performance degradation.

for recent activities upgraded the edirectory to 8.8 SP8 patch , previously no such CPU spikes were observed for ndsd process.

After 8.8 SP8 upgrade patch does it require any additional configuration ?

If any more information is required let me know i can provide @ the earliest

Re: CPU Utilization for ndsd process raising high !!!

What version were you on before, and which specific patch are you on now?
Did you follow documentation/readme instructions to apply the patches?

You should not need to do a lot just to get to 8.8 SP8, but without
knowing more about your setup, what clients are doing when they connect,
how your servers interact, etc., it's hard to guess at what may be happening.

A common culprit could be any old LDAP-based client. If it is making
queries that now behave differently in 8.8 SP8 then that could cause
increased load. Do all servers have an increased load? Did this happen
in your test environment as well as (I presume) Production? Do you have
similar loads or clients in Test/QA as well as Prod?

This seems likely to be related to your other thread. Whatever it is
that's trying to connect, is probably trying again when it fails. That
could lead to increased processor utilization.

No, it doesn't sound to me like a configuration problem.

One problem at a time, let's get your connection issue sorted out, then
see if that helps this as well.

Re: CPU Utilization for ndsd process raising high !!!

I have followed the documentation for upgrading the e-directory patch.

Yes its an production Environment.

In test environment no such behavior observed might be not much activities on the server.

Now i will identity the time frame the cpu utilization is reached max and check if any specific time frame the issue is observed.

I doubt this will be relating to the other issue for TLS connections ..
