Disable "Set Password" in Restrictions tab

Does anyone know of a way to disable the "set password" link in the
Restrictions tab when modifying user properties in iManager? We synch
using Universal Passwords to other Directories. I was told that setting
the password there for the user is a hit or miss populating the U.P.
The preferred way is to use the plugin from IdM "Set Universal
Password". The issue is that Help Desk sees the Set Password when
checking for password expiration, they reset it from the Set Password
link as a convenience for them. Unfortunately, it works sometimes and
other times, it does not.

I know iManager just uses a bunch of jsp pages. If anyone know which
jsp page to edit, maybe someone can point me there? I am not familair
with jsps. Thanks in advance.

Re: Disable "Set Password" in Restrictions tab

The link is defined in the last few lines of the file
pShared_PasswordRestrictions.jsp
in

[tomcat]\webapps\nps\portal\modules\base\skins\default\devices\default\

You might consider deleting the 5 lines between <TR> and </TR> - but
each iManager update may potentially restore the file.

Changes are effective immediately.

Re: Disable "Set Password" in Restrictions tab

Thanks a lot. I will try that and I think I can deal with the potential
setting reset once I know where to edit.

Would you happen know which jsp is the one that controls the "Tree"
login page? The other request from my help desk is a drop down list or
a radio button of the list of trees they can log on to.

Re: Disable "Set Password" in Restrictions tab

The login page is Authentication.jsp in
[tomcat]\webapps\nps\portal\modules\fw\skins\default\devices\default

Search for name="tree"

Someone with basic JSP/HTML knowledge can convert the type=text to some
list or radio input, but be sure to keep a backup of the original file.

Re: Disable "Set Password" in Restrictions tab

Thank you. Very much appreciated. The first tip worked perfect.

For the second tip. I tried this but does not seem to let me login. I
suppose I need to work on learning a bit of jsp like you said.

<select TABINDEX=3 name="tree" width="200"><option
value="FIRST_TREE">FIRST_TREE</option><option
value="SECOND_TREE">SECOND_TREE</option> </select>

Re: Disable "Set Password" in Restrictions tab

Works for me if I replace the "input" line with

<select TABINDEX=3 name="tree" width="200">
<option value="192.168.65.61">Tree #1: 192.168.65.61</option>
<option value="11.22.33.44">Tree #2: 11.22.33.44</option>
</select>

Re: Disable "Set Password" in Restrictions tab

SLP strikes again! Why didn't I think of that... I used IP addresses
of the server as suggested and it works. Thank you very much. I've
been trying to figure out these 2 items for a while now.
