Impersonation with NDK

I need to implement impersonation with novell. Our applications performs
impersonation with WinAPI which seems not to work with novell. So, how
can I implement novell impersonation with c#/ndk?

Re: Impersonation with NDK

inno1,

in the past I've been using impersonation with the Novell eDirectory
APIs successfully. After calling the Win impersonation you need to
proceed with the normal eDirectory connect/login.

If that doesn't work for you, you'll need to provide more detail.

The impersonation in our application works with ActiveDirectory. To
impersonate, you configure a username, a password and the domain of the
impersonation-user. When necessary, the application impersonates before
calling functions.

In novell, I thought, it has to run this way: The users authenticate to
novell through their windows login. To impersonate, I have to call some
methods from the ndk to impersonate another user. Correct me if I'm
wrong; perhaps I don't even need to use the ndk.

Can you provide me some keywords (method names) so I can search for
more information? Or perhaps a little code sample? Or a link where I
have to look in the documentation?

Regards,

inno

Re: Impersonation with NDK

To use impersonation with eDirectory, you need to do the Win/AD
impersonation, first.
With the new impersonated Win account, proceed with the normal Novell
connection/login APIs.
There are no specific APIs/features for eDirectory impersonation.

Alternatively use LDAP all, since you can create as many LDAP
connections with any ID as you like.

customer is using novell, I thought there is no Win/AD to impersonate..?
