OES2018 and eDirectory 9.x AES 256 SDI Key

OES 2018  installs eDirectory 9.1 and the documentation states the following:

Adding an OES 2018 server to an existing Tree automatically creates a NICI AES 256 bit Tree Key. However, OES does not support the NICI AES 256 bit Tree Key.

OES 2018 installs eDirectory 9.1 and creates a NICI AES 256 bit Tree Key but doesn't support it? I'm confused.

Can someone explain what the means?
