Upgrade eDir 8.8 SP3 to SP7, do I extend schema beforehand?

We've eDir 8.8 SP3 on SLES10 SP4 32-bit for our IDMVault, and wish to
upgrade to 8.8 SP7 32-bit with its lastest Patch+HotFix.

The patch "eDirectory 8.8 SP7 Patch 3 Schema Files" states that, "OES2
SP3, OES11 and standalone 8.8 SP6 eDirectory users will want to prepare
their tree prior to installing their first eDirectory 8.8 SP7 into it.
This includes health checks and extending schema."

8.8 SP7 Patch 3 Schema Files)

Is this a prerequisite, the Novell eDir 8.8 SP7 Installation Guide
mentions nothing? Does its full Installer do this, i.e., I only need run
its full Installer's "./nds-install"

8.8 SP7 Patch 5 for Linux & Unix)

Thanks,
