dibclone with different eDir versions

Any concerns in using dibclone as part of eDirectory upgrade (8.8.8 to 9.0.3)? Dibclone is supported for both versions and I could not find anything stating that dibclone should be done necessarily between same vesions.

I know it used to be that you had to clone between versions, as well as
platforms, but I've broken both of those rules in the past and been fine.
I'll see if I can find the documentation on that from the past and post a
link.

If platform support allows, upgrading from 8.8 SP8 to 9.0 SP3 is as simple
as just about anything else with eDirectory, so doing that first, then
cloning would work.

I skimmed through the "Clone DIB Set' section in the administration guide
and found the platform note, but no version note. Regardless I think you
will probably be fine functionally as long as you are on current code as
there have been bugs with DIB clone in the past that could hurt
performance after the cloning happens:
