eDirectory Change IP

Dear all,

Can the Windows that hosting eDirectory just change the IP and restart the eDirectory services? Any configuration that need to update for the IP Change? We tried to change the server IP and it seems eDirectory can start successfully.

Thanks

What comes to mind:

- DNS
- %WINSYSDIR%/drivers/etc/hosts (if used)
- Certificates that reference the IP address either as subject or SAN
- any config item that may use the old IP, e.g. LDAP Server Config - Listening
interfaces

Re: eDirectory Change IP

Pretty old cool solution about this topic:
https://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/qna/6336.html

Stop the NDS services.
Change the IP address.
Delete all .ACS files from c:\Novell\NDS and its subdirectories.
Start the NDS Services again/Reboot.

Re: eDirectory Change IP

TID3934357 How to change the IP address on a Windows NT/2000 Server.
https://www.novell.com/support/kb/doc.php?id=3934357

Change the IP address information as needed in the properties of Network Neighborhood / Local Area Connection as normal for the Windows environment.
Edit C:\NOVELL\NDS\DIBFILES\CONFIG.ACS
Delete the [NCP Engine/Transports/Enum] and [NCP Engine/Transports/Enum/00#] lines
Rename C:\NOVELL\NDS\DIBFILES\TRANSACT.ACS
Reboot.

**NOTE: Not all servers will have a TRANSACT.ACS file. If you don't have one, just edit the CONFIG.ACS file as stated above and reboot the server. When the server boots the CONFIG.ACS will be read for the "[NCP Engine/Transports/Enum] and [NCP Engine/Transports/Enum/00#]" lines. If the " [NCP Engine/Transports/Enum] and [NCP Engine/Transports/Enum/00#]" lines are not found, a TRANSACT.ACS file will be created and the [NCP Engine/Transports/Enum] and [NCP Engine/Transports/Enum/00#] lines
will be written with the new network address information.
