eDirectory Maintainence - Repair eDirectory

Hi,

Trying to perform eDirectory Repair from iManager -> eDirectory
Maintainence-> Repair eDirectory, I am getting the below error:

Error -347156450: Task is Not allowed. Either Role Based Services are
not installed on this server or you do not have rights to this task.

1. The Role Based Services are configured, RBS Roles are defined and
assigned to the admin user.
2. The current task is performed by the admin user having all the
rights.

Please help me understanding, what i am missing here to land up in this
error.

Thanks & Regards
Neha

Re: eDirectory Maintainence - Repair eDirectory

Which iManager version and patches? Which eDirectory plugin version?
Which eDirectory version on the server attempting to be repaired? Is that
eDirectory server the same one as iManager or a remote system? Which
platforms are involved? Do other roles/tasks work? Does iManager behave
better if you force it to Unrestricted mode and try the same steps?

Tried the latest patches? 2.7 SP7 is current, and if you do an install
today it also updates a lot of the pieces that cannot be updated with just
the SP, such as Tomcat and Java (lots of security fixes too).

The plugin versions are much more specific than this. Every plugin for
the last several years has been '8.8' at the beginning, but the full
version includes a date stamp, something like 20130923 or similar.

Which patch level? 8.8 has been out for the better part of a decade so
this is not very specific.

Is UAC enabled? Which user is running the Tomcat instance behind
iManager? Does loading ndsrepair work from the main console of the
windows box?

Are you meaning to state that everything under eDirectory Maintenance is
broken, or that you have not tested nay other roles? Do other roles work?

What about using Unrestricted mode?

Is 'admin' explicitly granted access to this role or is this user the
collection owner?

It may also be useful to state why you are trying to do a repair, and
specifically from iManager. I'd probably rather do it from iMonitor if
not directly from the system, but using ndsrepair at all should be avoided
unless you need to fix something, so sharing the original problem could
help us help you better.
