integrating OES11sp2 Edirectory into Netware 6.5 sp8

Trying to integrate OES11sp2 into a Netware 6.5 sp8, everytime we try to
integrate we get an authentication user error 0. Novell support says I
need to update the edirectory version on the SLES 11sp3, but I don´t
agree. Normally you should upgrade the Netware Server tree so the
Edirectory on linux will graft into the tree. The support says we must
upgrade the bindery version on the Edirectory on Linux... Opinions?

Hi,

Please confirm what version of eDirectory is running on your NetWare
server.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

It should work. I have removed all but one of my Netware 6.5 sp8
servers, but it is at DS version 20506.07 and all works fine.

I did get that error just a couple of days ago while patching an OES
11 server from sp1 to sp2. I found some timesync issues. Fixed those
and retried and it worked. So make sure time is synced up everywhere.

So you're installing a new OES11Sp2 server in to an existing tree that
has all (how many?) servers running NetWare 6.5 Sp8?

Where are you seeing this "authentication user error 0" error?

If this is a new install, you can't really do that. After installing OES,
you upgrade it only through the patch channels, never outside of those.

If you're on Sp8, you should already be at a reasonable eDirectory
version on NetWare. It might be useful to see the output from dsrepair /
timesync here to show the servers and versions.

Upgrade the bindery version? That makes no sense. Maybe you meant
"binary" there?

If you have an SR open, what's the number on it?

1. Only one server with NW 6.5 sp8
2. Support does not make sense

Bindery is what the tech said and I agree with everything you said and
everything is synced..

I'll see if I can get somebody to have a look at that.
