Access is Denied trying to install iPrint Printer

Windows XP Professional Sp2 workstation with iPrint client v4.26
installed. User is a Power User on workstation.

When logged in as user and try to install any iPrint printer get a "Novell
iPrint" error box with

Error message: Access is Denied
Error group: Windows
Error code: 5

Everyone group has full rights to c:ndps.

iPrint printers can be installed as local administrator and user can then
use printers.

Seems to be restricted to one specific workstation as have many other of
similar build and no problems installing iprint printers.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

I'm having the same issue for my User group, we are in the process of
securing the image. I'm trying to find a way to elevate the rights of
iPrint or find any relevant information. I was unable to find anything in
group policy editor that would correct this for WinXP either.

I have the same problem

Error Message: Access is denied
Error group: Windows
Error code: 5

The same printer works for me (I can install it), but I have admin
rights.
The normal user is not able to install that printer.

Does altering the value of AllowUserPrinter in the htdocsippdocsiprint.ini
file (for example to =3) have any beneficial effect?

I think you refer to
/var/opt/novell/iprint/htdocs/iprint.ini
or is there another file ?

Thats what I appended to my last message 🙂 Thx !

If that's where your iprint.ini file sits, then yes.

I'm not following, can you explain what do I have to do. So my power user right account can install iprint without the help of admin user.
