Can't modify profiles....

Hello everyone....

I'm running into a problem with one of our new Multi-function printers and
the Driver profile for it.

I can create the profile for the print driver, but I appear to be unable to
modify it in any way, either during the initial creation process or later by
trying to modify it.

The server is NW 6.5 SP8, iManager 2.7.3 with the latest iPrint plug-in.

Thanks in advance.

Try tid 7003840

I had this same problem and it ended up being a corrupt NDPS database. I had to do a pagen3 to completely recreate my database and redo every printer driver profile. If you get stuck on this, let me know. I have a good work around.

Hey, Tom....

I think I will need some of your assistance...

After looking at the TID you mentioned, I looked at NDPS a little closer and
I found that the Broker screen on my server is giving this error:

PRINT:/ndps/resdir/ENGLISH/prndrv/winXP/4C2CC3D5/ARCHIVES/NDPSDRVR.ZIP.
Error
code 1. Make sure the file exists, is not protected and has not been

corrupted, then try the task again.

I looked. The folder 4C2CC3D5 doesn't even exist.

Is there any way to know if that is the folder for the printer I am having
trouble with?

Thanks.

Hi,

Have a glance in the file ndps/resdir/ENGLISH/Prndrv/winXP/ndpstoc.ini and search for the folder name you mentioned. Hopefully it'll be in there and it'll identify the driver which the broker is expecting to find in that folder. Its probably worth then deleting that driver from your broker, as its not really doing anything anyway.
If its not listed in ndpstoc.ini, you should be able to identify the missing driver by doing a report on the NDPSM in NRM. To do that:
Login to NRM on the server hosting the NDPS manager.
Go to Diagnose Server > NDPS Manager Health > Advanced NDPS Manager Information > Generate Report.
Check "Win XP Driver" in the report options and generate the report.
Search the output for the folder name you mentioned. That should help you identify the driver.

Good luck,

Matt
