Clients having problems installing printers

Hi
We are a novell shop using Iprint. The problem is some of our end users that
have the Iprint client installed and are able to see all printers cannot
install them. I have logged in as admin on both xp and novell with the same
problem. When I try to click on a printer to install it I get a splash box
for a fraction of a second than nothing and the printer never gets
installed. Does anyone know why this is happening and if it's a windows
thing or novell issue with the novell client. We have the latest clients on
these pcs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Clients having problems installing printers

The best approach is probably to try to find what's common between the
occurances of the problem. But first of all, could you please describe
more closely your environment:

- what NetWare version are you using (including SP version)?
- what client OS are you using on your problem workstations, what SP level?
- what browser are you using to install the printers?
- do you have other workstations of the same OS level and browser that work?
- what iPrint client version do you have installed on the problem
workstations?
- do you have workstations with the same iPrint client that work?
- what printer types are you using?

Re: Clients having problems installing printers

We are at NW65sp4
The clients have xpsp2 with nov client 4.9sp1
All the browsers are IE6
There is just a handle full of problem workstations that are configured the
same as the rest
We have the latest iprint client
All printes are HP

Is that the 4.12 client?

Are all printers the same type? In case they aren't, do all printer
installations behave the same?

I don't see what really might cause the problem, but there has to be
something different about the problem PCs.

Re: Clients having problems installing printers

You may be having a problem with popup blocking. I would give that a
check to make sure that is not stopping the install before it even gets
started.

Make sure the problem workstations can ping the server.
