Create Printer Profile Failure with XP

Hello,
running Netware 6.5 with Imanager 2.6SP2 and IPront Plugin 2.05.200606261

I am able to create Printer Driver Profiles on a W2K Workstation.
When trying to create a profile on XP i'm getting thios error after selecting the Manager and pressing OK:

Error: Create Printer Driver Profile Failure
Currently no drivers are stored in i-print-broker.inform-ac.com for this desktop operating system.

In fact, there are no XP Drivers, because the W2K drivers are the same ( in mostly all cases )
Netware doesn't deliver any XP drivers, because there's no need.

Is this behaviour by design ? ( one has to add all drivers for XP manually )

Re: Create Printer Profile Failure with XP

This is workign as designed. iManager only allows you to create printer
drivers for the platform on which you run it and for drivers for that
platform.
There are 2 ways to work around this problem:

1) Use a Windows 2000 workstation to create your profiles. Profiles
created on a Windows 2000 workstation will still work on XP if there is no
XP driver for the pritner

2) There is a quick way to duplicate your driver database from Windows
2000 to XP. In the ndps\resdir\ENGLISH\PRNDRV directory, copy the complete
WIN2000 subdirectory structure to WINXP and then restart the Broker. This
will make sure that all your Windows 2000 drivers will also show as
Windows XP drivers. Driver profiles will unfortunately not be copied that
way. You will still have to create them manually.

I have considered using vmware for that purpose, but haven't tested
(yet). If it is, then that's third "workaround". AFAIK vmware server is
now freeware-product.

If you can use vmware you could use single workstation for all platforms
easily. And, as an added bonus, don't get your own machine screwed if
some printer driver behaves badly.

Maybe I should ask this at iManager-forum...hmmm...right. I ask there.
